| | | I recently went through ESOAL (A crazy intense Boot-Camp like program) during ESOAL I had to do a lot of things in mud and grass and water. During one of these events I managed to cut my legs open some how. I didn't realize that my legs were cut. I just thought they were hurting because of the intensity of all the obsticles we were going through. Anyways after ESOAL I started feeling horrible pains in my legs... even to the point where it's been hard to walk. My legs started scabbing up and having pus around the scab. I started using peroxide, neosporin and band-aids to treat the numerous markings on my legs. I tried to see the doctor here when he came to campus, but he was booked so I tried to see him anyways.... I was late. The next day I had an appointment to see the nurse (which was today). I received an email last night that said all appointments were cancelled for today. I thought NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! So I had to see a doctor today... so I realized... wait I never received an insurance card... so I go to my insurance agency. They look up my information. The lady begins making faces like huh? So she begins to tell me... "I can't find any of your information. Did your check clear? Did you have a phone interview"? I say, "No, I was never contacted." So no insurance information is up to date. I have to go back. They tell me to go see the clinic and they'll reimburse me later. And you can be sure that I make sure they do! :) I get to the clinic... Wait forever... They call my name. I go in, Tell the person before the Doctor comes in what's going on. Ok thanks, So and so will be with you in a minute... 20 minutes later. Hi I'm (Whatever her name was) what's going on? I tell her. Ok I'll be right back... Waiting, waiting. She pokes my scab with some needle... didn't hurt. Blood comes out. She says, "Oh I was expecting something else." What was she expecting? Anyways... She looks at it some more... "I don't know what you have, but it's infected." She gives me a prescription and tells me how to treat it. I ask her if she can write it down because I would probably forget everything. She leaves, I wait again... wait some more. She comes back gives me the paper, releases me and then I am paying $arm and $leg... actually $135.30, then I have to go get the prescription. Another $17.00 something. Grrr... stinkin insurance. College payment was due today... I forgot. I hope I don't have to pay any interest. Why is the cost of health and college so dang expensive. I need to call my good friend Oprah to help me out. Well friends... I am on my way to recovering. If you remember pray that these legs heal quickly. I have to go back to the doctor on Wednesday to have it checked out again. I can't afford to pay another arm and leg. |
